Whistler Vineyards was founded by Drs. Stig Hansen and Jennifer Whistler in 2001. Inspired by our passion for Pinot Noir and Burgundy in particular we set out to acquire a property, where we could plant a vineyard and develop our own estate. After much research, we settled on a property located on the "true" Sonoma Coast just four miles from the Pacific Ocean in the north-west corner of Sonoma County close to Annapolis. This site has the perfect micro-climate and soil-type for producing world class Pinot Noir.
We are fortunate to operate independently as a family business, allowing us to pursue our own vision and uncompromising approach to farming. We make all vineyard management decisions and are intimately involved with the farming operations, as we firmly believe that great Pinot Noir is created in the vineyard. Our goal is to make authentic wines with complexity and balance. We are continually fine tuning our farming practices to enhance those characteristics and bring forward the varietal and clonal expression of our terroir. All our wines are made by Stig Hansen at our winery in Berkeley, CA. The winery tasting room is open on Saturdays and Sundays and by appointment. Over the years we have worked with several great wineries including Patz & Hall, Miura, and Ehren Jordan's Failla Wines.
